Rescue One Cats

Tiger

Est. Birthdate: 02/19/2010

Greetings! I’m Tiger, a female shorthair tabby with a 5 pound heart of gold. I’ve lived a life filled with curiosity, love, and sweet moments. I’ve seen a lot in my life, and not much bothers me! You’ll generally find me sleeping in a cozy cubby, and when I come out to stretch my legs, I don’t pay much attention to who or what is around me.

As a seasoned litter box expert, I take pride in my impeccable indoor manners. I get along with other cats (if I notice them) and would be perfectly content as an only cat, soaking up all the love and attention. I’ve recently met a small dog and we became great friends! I thrive in the company of older children who understand my quiet and gentle nature. I may be in the twilight of my years, but I believe every day is a gift to be cherished. If you’re a kind soul looking to open your heart and home to a sweet and deserving companion, put in an application today!

Let me tell you a little about my history. As a kid I went for a ride out into the country with a few of my siblings. We all got out to go for a walk, but I guess when mom and dad left, they forgot to take us with them. I have been so worried about them ever since, but before long I found some new humans to take care of, then started a family of my own. My family grew quickly! My sisters and I had kids in a hurry, and before you knew it, there were about 30 of us!

We were exhausted with all those kids running around to take care of, and we mourned as some didn’t survive the wilderness. It was one of the hardest times of my life, other than losing my first people. My new people were great though! They took us all into the doctor, and after that we stopped having to worry about all those rug rats. Eventually all my siblings passed on, and so did my new human dad.

One day a lady came out and she and my mom loaded us all up for another ride, there were 15 of us left, and our friend, Buddy the goose. Our mom told us she needed to go live where she could have some help, and she was so sad, but we couldn’t go with her. The lady took me and my family to a place called Rescue One, where we all got checkups, blood work, vaccines, preventatives, microchips, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Some of us even got our teeth cleaned! After that we had to go our separate ways, but we ended up in places called foster homes, where we met some really nice people who have been taking care of us.

My journey hasn’t been without its challenges. When they did my bloodwork, they found that I’m currently battling kidney and heart failure alongside hyperthyroidism. I never let it discourage me though! Despite these obstacles, I’m gaining weight and living each day to the fullest with the help of my daily medication. Though I may seem lost in my own world at times, I cherish every moment of love and attention I receive. While I’m not a fan of being picked up or kenneled, I’m always eager for a gentle pat or a soft word of comfort. However, I do enjoy lounging in the sun and bathing in the windows.

My adoption fee is sponsored. I’ve had my microchip, vaccinations, FIV/FELV test (negative), de-wormer, and spay/neuter. This means that a big chunk of veterinary cost has already been taken care of, so the only routine vetting expenses for you will be, as with any pet, monthly preventatives and yearly vaccinations as they come due.
